What makes a good event planner ?

In fact i will say great event planner , i am going to tell you six things which really makes you a great event planner and we should always be working on through out the event planning carrier , its easy to accomplish if you stay focused are :

1- Friendly -

It seems easy enough but to be friendly is so important , you want to make person that you are going to meet the first time the clients and the vendor comfortable with you, you should smile , make eye contact , be casual and also be professional . You should also be dressed as per the occasion , make sure that you should always have your smile on , have good hand shake while you were warm or engaging .

2-Good listener -

Something which is also very important and goes hand in hand with friendly nature that when you first meet up your client and you are learning a lot about your client and  your client meets you for any event put up some personal information about your client so you should listen carefully and try to remember as much as you can it will be so important if can bring up details later on you remember of your initial conversation , So may be you find out that its your clients kids birthday or something silly like that it might not be important for your event planning carrier but if you can remember that later it shows that you are really professional friendly and a really good listener . Also you should be good listener because this is  your clients event they want to feel it like its their event , they don't necessarily want to just pass it on to an event planner but they want to feel involved as if they are doing their job as well .

So you should always be good listener , listen to everything they say , all their wishes , all their facts on the event and then add on to that with change over or add on with some examples.

3- Budget conscious -

Every body comes in  with a bottom line for their  price  in a budget that is usually firm any idea that you are recommending or as you enter the event planning its so important to always keep in mind the budget , if things start to go out of control you need to talk to your client that they should know that they are going over their budget . This one is so important you never want to have the reputation  as been an  event planner who always go over budget. You should prove that you want to help your client save his money .

4- Organized - 

This one is really very important , you may have so many vendors that you are dealing with the day out can be so crazy so you have to have a really good timeline , make sure that you are staying a good contact with every one i think as well as your best friend , and using spreadsheet is very important sharing them with every body whom you are working with  , something that i found really useful as i printout a couple of  different schedules and i read them with every vendor that i am working with and i also to any body that i hire to work under me for  that day , so any of the assistance i want to have them as much information as i do , so that we can all be organized and stand in same phase and nothing goes over out that plan .

5- Stay calm under pressure - 

So its very curios part for me , our before the event starts every body is running around is crazy it seems like nothing is going to be done on time , it can really be a lot of pressure and you can really feel crazy and stress is going to be so high just know that this part is really crazy and stressful but you are in control you have your time line every body is there and everybody is supposed to be there and every thing is to be done perfectly , this one is really important . You should take a couple deep breath just remember that u have done every thing in your power to make this day perfect and its going to turn up great . Also unexpected things can happen all the time , we have noticed it in weddings specially something like the bride gets in traffic or she is getting crazy about something . In any situation or a vendor issue its good always to stay calm so that you can help calm down the people around you especially the client .

6- Keep learning - 

keep reading , keep watching online courses , keep getting new certificates , keep getting up to date with trends i know that intercepts a lot by also looking at websites and in seeing what kind of new event planning tools there are out there. Because client always want something new .
